Ammonia Bad For Your Skin

fill the gap left by Kapuściński. Wojciech Tochman "God bless you." Also, a few words on the margins of the review, which is a good day Monday

reading reports, I'm always looking one: Kapuscinski's style and language. It is my subjective, selfish, and perhaps most importantly fully aware of the approach to the authors from the circle of non-fiction. Expect from the representatives of this species: a clear, precise, 'dynamic' sentences, niebagatelnego, beautiful language, objectivity (ironically!), and most importantly, silent participation in the event of compassion. I thought it would be difficult to meet the above requirements, but here it is on the horizon of my literary quest appeared Wojciech Tochman. Hats off to please you!

"God bless you" is a collection of reports already published in books "Steps do not smoke" and "Mad Dog" (not including the title text, printed the first time). The book Tochman as a mirror reflects the Polish reality, maybe more accurately: Polish, Catholic reality in recent years. Heroes of texts, among other things, people are confused, fanatically religious. These are people who choose to harm the child rather than punish the pedophile priest, claiming their actions by "just so people are not talking" ("The atmosphere of love"). This individual, the human tragedies that take place within the four walls of the dwelling (a shocking documentary, "Prisoner" - the story of a man suffering from Tourette's syndrome, whether the title text "God bless" a "Catholic" meaning of the concept of family). Many stories, many stories that make up the real, everyday image of Polish culture. Polish is not imaginary, wishful thinking, but a genuine, without hypocrisy sztafażu.

final text and closing publications is loud and well-known documentary "Mad Dog" in which the narrator - the priest gives a specific sermon, which is also a confession of the truth about the samy. The priest is a homosexual and a carrier HIV. However, the homily will never be spoken. For fear of ostracism in society, stigma, lack of understanding. Indeed, in Poland, did not release - captivates and leaves. The text of the "Mad Dog" is a perfect metaphor for the "Polish" understanding of religion, values, "upright posture". Silence is golden.

One of the characters in the book, "Today we draw the death," says Tochman: "He had no gender or skin color" [1] . hard to think of a better compliment to the reporter - to become a part of the environment on which to write. Tochman fills the gap left by Kapuściński. Both in the reportage domestic and foreign. So I can say with full responsibility: Ladies and gentlemen, Polish reportage is doing well!
