According to a study by the Alzheimer Society, in Canada, it is estimated that out of 500,000 people observed, 14% have Alzheimer's symptoms before 65 years of age. These numbers tend to double in coming decades due to population aging and increasingly earlier diagnoses.
All sectors of society are affected, because the generation of baby boomers (people born in any period where the birth rate grows sharply and abnormal), is now be affected by mental illness.
Facts:
Over 70,000 Canadians less than 65 years and about 50,000 under 60 have been diagnosed with the disease, according to the organization.
